Author talk with Jack Friday, author of the thriller 'Killer Vibes', at The Little Gay Shop in Austin.
Jack Friday is coming to The Little Gay Shop on Tuesday, August 11, for an author talk around his book Killer Vibes. It runs from 7 PM to 9:30 PM at 1902 E 12th Street in East Austin.
Friday's visit fits right into the shop's current rhythm. The Little Gay Book Club, which meets on Saturday mornings, is spending August on thrillers, and Killer Vibes sits squarely in that wheelhouse. The club reads literature centering the queer ideas, stories, and experiences that shape the movement; membership is free, and readers drop in as much or as little as they like. This talk is one of the ways the shop extends that reading into conversation.
The Little Gay Shop is an unapologetically queer retail shop and community organizer on East 12th Street. Inside, there's a curated marketplace with work from more than 1,000 independent queer artists, authors, and makers from around the world, alongside a bookshop, pride flags, enamel pins, and stickers. The author talks happen in an intimate setting, where writers discuss their work and take questions from the room. The rest of the calendar fills out with Little Gay Markets, drag bingo nights, neighborhood Pride celebrations, and themed parties like Neon Rodeo.
