A free citywide celebration opening working artists' studios, galleries and creative spaces to the public, allowing visitors to discover local talent and learn about artists' tools, techniques and inspirations.
The Austin Studio Tour returns for two weekends this November, with working artists opening their studios, galleries, and creative spaces to the public. It runs Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15, and again Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22, from 11 AM to 5 PM each day. The tour is free, and the locations are spread across Austin, the Austin ETJ, West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, and Sunset Valley.
If you've never done it, the whole point is to see where the work actually happens. Instead of a gallery wall, you're in the studio, seeing the tools, the techniques, and the inspirations that go into the art. You can talk to the artists about how they work and see the process up close, which is something you don't get at a typical show. It's a citywide celebration of local talent, and since it's free, you can pick a few neighborhoods and spend a day or two drifting from one space to the next.
This is the tour's 24th year. It's produced by Almost Real Things (ART), the arts organization founded by Natalie Earhart and Zachary Zulch in 2015, which took over the event from its previous organizer, Big Medium. It's grown into one of Texas' biggest art events: the 2025 edition was reported as their largest yet, with 723 participants across 317 locations. The 2026 Tour comes with a 376-page printed guidebook full of profiles of the participating artists, which is a handy thing to have on hand when you're figuring out your route.
