The Austin Bats, reigning ABA National Champions, kick off the 2026-27 season at St. Edward's University in their new home venue.
The Austin Bats open their 2026-27 season on Sunday, October 25, at St. Edward's University, their first home game of the new campaign. It's a bit of a double milestone: it's the season opener and the team's first game at their new home venue, the Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC).
They're coming off a hell of a run. The Bats are the reigning American Basketball Association (ABA) National Champions, and that title followed a historic 24-1 championship season. If you've been following them, you know they're entering this year as the team to beat, and this is the first time they'll be defending that title on their own court.

The game tips off at 6 PM, so it's an early oneβperfect if you want to be home by mid-evening. The venue is the RAC at St. Edward's, located at 3001 S. Congress Ave. in South Austin. Tickets are $10, which is a low bar for a chance to see the defending national champions start their new season in person. If you've been wanting to get into the ABA scene, this is as good a starting point as any: the reigning champs, their first home game of the year, and their first night in a new gym.
