The inaugural edition of a major jazz festival in Austin, featuring world-touring jazz musicians across three days of live performances.
ATX Jazz Fest runs from April 2 to 4, 2027, across the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park and Assembly Hall. It's the first edition of a new festival from ATX Chamber Music and Jazz (ATX Music), the organization that curates shows around Austin and runs its own chamber music collective, Ensemble ATX. The festival is the centerpiece of their fourth and most ambitious season yet, which runs from September 12, 2026, to May 15, 2027, with concerts at The Mansion Austin, the Music Box, and Kodosky Manor. Co-artistic directors Geoffrey Herd and Anna Petrova describe it as the most concentrated gathering of jazz talent ever assembled in Texas, bringing together Grammy winners, MacArthur Fellows, and NEA Jazz Masters for more than 29 hours of live music over three days and multiple stages.
The lineup is a heavy one. You'll find Brad Mehldau, the Christian McBride Big Band, CĂ©cile McLorin Salvant, Jason Moran, Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Terence Blanchard & the E-Collective, Joe Locke, Sullivan Fortner, Emmet Cohen, Bria Skonberg, Nicole Zuraitis, and Alfredo RodrĂguez & Pedrito Martinez. The festival also runs through Everyone Deserves Art, an initiative that brings artists into Title I schools.
