Premier downtown triathlon with a swim in Lady Bird Lake, a bike leg through downtown, and a run through Butler Park.
Ascension Seton Supertri Austin returns to downtown Austin on Monday, May 31, 2027, falling on Memorial Day weekend. It's a downtown triathlon that brings athletes back to the city's streets, parks, and waterfront, and it's open to all levelsโfrom first-timers to experienced triathletes. The course is one of the most recognizable in the region: a swim in Lady Bird Lake, a bike leg through downtown past the Texas State Capitol, and a run through Butler Park, with the finish line at Auditorium Shores.
For the pros, the Supertri format turns triathlon into a spectator sport. Instead of one long race, they compete in three swim-bike-run legs back-to-back without a break, and they share the same course as the age-groupers. If you're new to the sport, there's a First Timer Program that provides email coaching leading up to race day to help you get ready.

Logistics are centered around the waterfront: the swim is in Lady Bird Lake, and packet pickup and transition are both at Auditorium Shores. A few things to keep in mind for the day: water temperature in May typically hovers around 78ยฐF, so wetsuits are legal only if the water drops below that mark. The race falls on Memorial Day weekend, so it's a good time to get out if you're already in town for the holiday. The full course takes you from the lake, through the heart of downtown past the Capitol, and through Butler Park before finishing back at Auditorium Shores.
