Andrew Duplantis Band is playing Hole in the Wall on Tuesday, July 21, as part of a weekly residency that runs every Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM. The bill is listed as Andrew Duplantis & Friends, so you'll get the band and a few guests on the same stage.
If you've never spent a night at Hole in the Wall, it's one of the city's oldest dives. It opened in 1974 in the campus area as a folkie hangout, and Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, and Blaze Foley all played here. Later on, it became a spot for punk, cosmic country, and alternative, and bands like Timbuk3, Fastball, Spoon, and Shakey Graves got their start on these stages. It's a two-stage room with a combined capacity of a couple hundred, and it still hosts live music every night. It briefly closed in 2002 and came close to being priced out in 2015, but it's still standing and still serving as a proving ground for new bands. The room remains 21+.
