An Orchestra of Supergiants

BLiPSWiTCH is presenting An Orchestra of Supergiants at Clayton Towers, 1106 Clayton Ln., on the third floor of an office building. It's a site-specific dance production with eight dancers and a live original musical composition, and it runs Wednesday through Saturday from 7:30 to 9 PM, continuing through September 26.

Because it's site-specific, the show is built around the space it's in rather than a traditional stage. The company describes the piece as a "living archive of déjà vu": accumulated sounds and movement that shape our personhood and reveal how little of human existence we are able to hold and perceive. It's not about the office building itself, but about how our own memories are an echoing variation on sameness, eroding and distorting with each return until we can no longer feel their totality. The eight dancers and the live music work together to bring that idea to life across the floor.

It's an all-ages show, so you can bring the kids along. Tickets are $35 on a sliding scale, and they've made a point of saying no one will be turned away for lack of funds, which is a nice touch if you're on a budget. The performances run 7:30 to 9 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, through September 26, at Clayton Towers, 1106 Clayton Ln., on the third floor.
