Flamingo Cantina sits at 515 East 6th Street, right in the middle of Sixth Street. It's known as Austin's home for reggae, dub, and ska, and it's been drawing acts from both around town and further afield for nearly a quarter-century. The venue keeps a tropical vibe straight from Jamaica, and its funk mini-amphitheater space offers a laid-back alternative to the collegiate scene that fills the rest of Dirty Sixth. Among its live-music residencies is the Mau Mau Chaplains.
