ACL TV Taping: Lola Young

Lola Young plays ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Friday, October 9, as part of a television taping for Austin City Limits. The British singer-songwriter hails from London, and this performance is being recorded for Season 52 of the PBS series, which is produced by KLRU and billed as the longest-running music series in American television history.

ACL Live at the Moody Theater is the show's home, a 2,750-capacity room located at 310 W. 2nd Street on Willie Nelson Blvd in downtown Austin. It sits next to the W Austin Hotel & Residences, part of the 1.1 million square foot mixed-use Block 21 project developed by Stratus Properties and the Canyon-Johnson Urban Fund II. The venue is one of only two dedicated live music spaces in the country built to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED sustainability standards, and it was named Best Music Venue in Do512's Best of 2012 Survey.

Entry is free, but getting in works a bit differently than a standard ticketed show. Space Available passes are awarded through a lottery drawing—two per person, non-transferable and not for sale—so you'll want to get your name in early if you're planning to be there. The taping starts at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7 PM and the call/front porch bar opening at 6 PM, so there's plenty of time to grab a drink before the cameras start rolling.
