Indie rock album release show featuring A Band Called Ma with support from Floating Cube, Lucyspin and Cel Shade. Free entry, 21+ only.
A Band Called Ma are playing Hotel Vegas on Friday, August 14, for the release of their new self-titled album. They're an indie rock band, and this is the night they ring in the new record. They aren't coming alone, either: Floating Cube, Lucyspin, and Cel Shade are all on the bill, so it's a four-band night rather than a single set. The music starts at 7 PM.
Hotel Vegas is on East Sixth, and it's the second rock club from former Spider House booker Jason McNeely. It's built a following on a strong house-band lineup, creative covers nights, and the occasional monster showcase. The room holds under 200 people, so it stays on the smaller side. It shares a big backyard with its sister spot, the Volstead Lounge, which has hosted headline roadshows like Thee Oh Sees. If you've spent any time around the East Sixth scene, you've probably seen the two running together.
