Xfinity Fall Movie Series: October Sky

The Battery Atlanta is turning its Plaza Green into an outdoor cinema for the Xfinity Fall Movie Series, which runs from October 2 to November 28, 2026. It's a free series of family-friendly screenings on the open lawn, so you can bring the kids and settle in under the stars. Most of the movies play on Fridays at 7 PM, but there are a couple of exceptions to keep in mind: Minions & Monsters shows on Sunday, October 25 at 5:30 PM, and The Grinch plays on Saturday, November 28 at 7:30 PM.

The lineup is a mix of animated hits and a few live-action titles. It kicks off October 2 with Super Mario Galaxy Movie, followed by October Sky on October 16, Sing on October 23, Minions & Monsters on October 25, and The Lorax on October 30. November brings Jurassic Park on November 6, Wicked: For Good on November 13, Shrek Forever After on November 20, and The Grinch (the 2018 version) on November 28. Since it's all family-friendly, it works for a range of ages.

Plaza Green is the open lawn at The Battery, the district in Cobb County that houses Truist Park and bills itself as the area's premier hub for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The screen fills the plaza, and the surrounding restaurants supply to-go food for the night, so you can grab dinner and a snack before you settle in. You're encouraged to bring your own blankets or lawn chairs. Parking is free for the first two hours in the Red, Purple, Yellow, and Green decks. Just a heads-up: no coolers, outside alcohol, or glass containers are allowed.

The series runs alongside the district's holiday calendar, which includes the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa's Post Office, and the New Year's Eve Bash. Admission is free for every screening.
