Free Family Movie on The Plaza

The Battery is keeping the outdoor movies going through the fall, with free screenings on the Plaza Green at 800 Battery Ave SE. The Xfinity Fall Movie Series runs on Friday nights, and every film is picked for family audiences, so it's a good bet if you've got kids in tow. The screenings start around 7 PM on Fridays, though a couple of dates break the pattern: Minions & Monsters played on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 5:30 PM, and The Grinch (the 2018 version) is set for Saturday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 PM.

The lineup covers a fair bit of ground. It kicked off Oct. 2 with Super Mario Galaxy Movie, followed by October Sky on Oct. 16 and Sing on Oct. 23. Minions & Monsters took the Sunday slot on Oct. 25, and The Lorax played Friday, Oct. 30. From there, Jurassic Park comes up Nov. 6, Wicked: For Good on Nov. 13, and Shrek Forever After on Nov. 20, before The Grinch closes things out on Nov. 28.

Since it's outdoors, you'll want to bring blankets or lawn chairs to settle in. You can grab to-go food from the restaurants around the plaza and bring it with you, but there are a few rules: no coolers, no outside alcohol, and no glass containers. Parking is free for the first two hours in the Red, Purple, Yellow, and Green decks at The Battery. Admission is free.
