Wishy

Wishy play The Earl on Wednesday, October 21, at 7 PM. They're performing their six-song EP Planet Popstar live, a dreamy compilation of b-sides that they've been touring since it came out in 2025.

Wishy is the project of Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites, who first met in high school in Indiana and only later became friends. The Indianapolis duo broke through with their 2023 EPs Mana and Paradise, and released their debut LP Triple Seven on Winspear in the summer of 2024. That record landed on best-of-the-year lists from The New York Times, GQ, Alt Press, Paste, Stereogum, Uproxx, and NME. Planet Popstar followed in 2025, a pop-forward collection of b-sides recorded during those same sessions, and the year also brought a Colbert performance, a run of tour dates with Momma, and appearances at Kilby Block Party and Riot Fest.

Their sound blends dream pop, shoegaze, and power pop with sugary grunge and zany, melancholic lyrics. They co-produced the records with Ben Lumsdaine in Los Angeles, and they'd written the songs destined for their debut as far back as 2021. The set at The Earl focuses on Planet Popstar, so you'll hear those b-sides in full rather than tucked into a larger mix of the older material.
