Annual tree sale offering hundreds of native Southeast trees and Georgia azaleas, with staff and volunteers on hand to assist buyers.
Trees Atlanta is hosting its 27th Annual Tree Sale at The Carter Center on Saturday, October 17, from 8 AM to 1 PM. It's an in-person sale with staff and expert volunteers on site to help you pick out what'll actually work for your yard, which is a nice touch if you're not entirely sure where to start. They'll have hundreds of trees for sale, almost all native to the Southeast, plus a special selection of native Georgia azaleas. All the proceeds go back into Trees Atlanta's programs and operations.
If you're not familiar with the organization, their work feeds into the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, which is a pretty impressive collection of native plants scattered across the city. It includes 18 types of magnolias, some descended from historic trees planted near the former Ponce de Leon Park where Babe Ruth and Eddie Matthews once hit home runs. There are 33 Georgia-native oaks paired with 33 stainless-steel leaf sculptures by David Landis, and the Stumpery Garden. The arboretum also holds the largest public native azalea collection in the Atlanta area, with over 300 azaleas across all 13 species native to Georgia.
