Live show by Seattle synth-punk band Telehealth at The EARL in East Atlanta Village.
Telehealth play The EARL on Tuesday, October 20, at 8 PM. They're a synth-punk outfit from Seattle, and this is their only Atlanta date on the books for the night.
The band formed in 2022, co-founded by married couple Alexander Attitude, who handles synths, vocals, and guitar, and Kendra Cox on synths and vocals. They've since filled out into a five-piece with longtime collaborators Ian McCutcheon on drums, John O'Connor on bass, and Dillon Sturtevant on guitar. They describe themselves as a synth-punk conglomerate, and the sound lives up to the name: art rock, new wave, and nervy post-punk held together by industrial-tinged synths.
There's a specific thread running through their writing. They treat modern culture like a marketplace, working through burnout, tech optimism, branding, and the performance of progress with sharp hooks and danceable tension. Their Sub Pop debut, Content Oscillator, came out in 2023, followed by the Sub Pop Singles Club release Mindtrap/Bitter Melody and their sophomore LP, Green World Image, produced by Trevor Spencer. That second record draws on Attitude's past as an architect in a Climate Pledged city, mixing the tech-industrial rhythms of Bezos-era Seattle with the city's raw underground sound. Critics have compared them to XTC, REM, YMO, and The B-52s.
