Sugar, the pop-grunge trio of Bob Mould, returns with the Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour, supported by J. Robbins.
Sugar are playing The Eastern on Friday, October 23, as part of their Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour. It's the original trio back together: Bob Mould on guitar and vocals, David Barbe on bass, and Malcolm Travis on drums. If you're not familiar with the name, Sugar was the pop-grunge band Mould fronted after his time in Hüsker Dü. They ran from 1992 to 1995, leaving behind three albums and a handful of EPs before Mould went back to recording as a solo artist.
Their 1992 album Copper Blue was named NME's Album of the Year, and the singles "Beaster" and "File Under: Easy Listening" both hit the UK top 10. The band built its reputation on high-volume, guitar-driven rock, and this tour brings that sound back to the stage. Since the group split in the mid-nineties, Mould has kept working on his own, putting out about a dozen more records through 2025's Here to Go Crazy. This is the first time the three of them have been out on the road together since the nineties.
Opening the bill is J. Robbins, a mainstay of the Washington, D.C. punk and indie rock scene. He's known for his work with Jawbox, Government Issue, and Burning Airlines, and he's spent as much time behind the boards as a producer and engineer as he has on stage. His solo albums include Un-Becoming (2019) and Basilisk (2024).
