Live concert by singer-songwriter Sam Beam, who performs under the name Iron & Wine, at The Eastern in Reynoldstown.
Iron & Wine plays The Eastern on Wednesday, October 28, at 8 PM. The name is the stage name of singer-songwriter Sam Beam, and he's the only one on the bill.
If you're not familiar with the name, you've almost certainly heard the music. Beam started out recording in a home studio, building a reputation for hushed, finger-picked folk and a soft, close-to-the-mic vocal style. Over the years he's moved into fuller arrangements, but that songwriting—quiet, detailed, and focused on the lyrics—has always stayed at the center. It's the kind of music that works just as well on a quiet night at home as it does in a room full of people.
The venue is The Eastern, located at 777 Memorial Dr SE in the Reynoldstown neighborhood, just off the BeltLine. It's Atlanta's newest concert venue, run by Zero Mile Presents and AEG Presents, and it was built with sound at its core. Zero Mile itself formed in 2016, bringing together the operators of Georgia Theatre, Variety Playhouse, and Terminal West to share booking, marketing, and operational services across the three businesses, along with the collective experience and teams behind three of the most popular music venues in the Southeast. The Eastern is the latest addition to that group.
