Neurophilosophy Forum talk with John Kulvicki, Professor of Philosophy at Dartmouth College, on seeing opacity and transparency.
John Kulvicki is coming to Atlanta on Friday, October 16, for a Neurophilosophy Forum talk titled Seeing Opacity and Transparency. He'll be speaking at the 25 Park Place Building (SunTrust Tower), in Room 1618, from 3 PM to 5 PM.
Kulvicki is a professor of philosophy at Dartmouth College, and this talk sits right at the intersection of philosophy and neuroscience. The title, Seeing Opacity and Transparency, points toward the core of the discussion: how we perceive the world around us and the way our minds process what's right in front of us. If you've ever thought about how we distinguish between something we can see through and something that blocks our view—and what that says about how we experience reality—that's exactly where this conversation lives.
The Neurophilosophy Forum brings in thinkers from outside the city to talk through these kinds of questions in a live setting, so it's more of a focused session than a casual drop-in. Kulvicki is visiting from Dartmouth, and the talk is scheduled for the afternoon, which makes it a good fit if you're around downtown during the workday.
