Concert by the funk trio Secret Army, led by P-Funk All Stars keyboardist Danny Bedrosian, with opening act Soul Candy.
Secret Army plays The Garden Club at Wild Heaven West End on Thursday, October 15, with Soul Candy opening. The headliner is a trio led by P-Funk All Stars keyboardist and vocalist Danny Bedrosian, with P-Funk veterans Lige Curry on bass and vocals and Benzel Cowan on drums. The three also serve as the rhythm section for George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, so they're the same guys you'll find behind the P-Funk machine.
They've got a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and multiple nominations between them, and they've played in movies, on television, and together on all six inhabited continents. The music they bring is a fusion of funk, R&B, hip-hop and rock, and they're playing it here as a trio. Opening the night is Soul Candy, an Atlanta collective known for a genre-bending mix of soul, jazz, house and funk.
