Free community breast cancer awareness expo with speakers, a fashion showcase, a vendor marketplace and wellness resources for survivors and their families.
The POP (Power of Persistence) Breast Cancer Awareness Expo takes over the Adams Recreation Center on Saturday, October 17, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM. It's a free community event that brings together breast cancer survivors, patients, their families, caregivers, and anyone else in the neighborhood. The morning is built around a few different things happening at once: speakers sharing their stories, a fashion showcase, and a vendor marketplace.
That marketplace is where a lot of the morning's energy sits. It's designed to showcase businesses, nonprofits, and wellness brands that focus on confidence, wellness, and quality of life. The categories cover a wide stretch of ground—beauty and skincare, hair, fashion, wellness, fitness, nutrition, mental health, healthcare, lifestyle, financial wellness, community resources, and small businesses and nonprofits. It's the kind of spread where you can find a new skincare routine and a local nonprofit in the same room.
Between the vendors, the speakers and the fashion showcase keep the focus on the people. The whole thing is meant to be a celebration of survivors, and the mix of resources and community makes it more than just a health fair. It's as much about the people showing up as it is about the booths.
