Live concert by the Swedish indie-pop trio Peter Bjorn and John at The Loft in Atlanta.
Peter Bjorn and John play The Loft on Thursday, October 22, starting at 8 PM. They're a Swedish indie-pop trio from Stockholm, and the name comes from the three members: Peter Morén, Björn Yttling, and John Eriksson. Morén and Yttling met in high school and later added Eriksson, whom they spotted at Sebadoh and Elliott Smith shows.
Most people know them from "Young Folks," the whistle-laden hit from their 2007 album Writer's Block, which became a staple of indie playlists worldwide. Since then, they've put out a fair amount of music. There's the instrumental Seaside Rock and the pop album Living Thing, which earned them an opening slot for Depeche Mode. Then came the power-trio record Gimme Some, the hit-driven Breakin' Point in 2012, Darker Days, and 2019's Endless Dream. Their sound blends jangle pop and folk, and you can expect a setlist that pulls from across that catalogue.
