A kids' evening of games, a movie, dinner and dessert at Saint Mark United Methodist Church so parents can have the night off.
Saint Mark United Methodist Church is hosting a Parents Night Out on Friday, October 24, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's exactly what the name says: a night for parents to get a few hours to themselves while their kids are looked after. The evening is built around games, a movie, dinner, and dessert, so the kids are fed and entertained while you're off doing whatever you've been putting off.
If you haven't spent much time there, Saint Mark is a progressive United Methodist congregation that's been part of the Midtown neighborhood since 1903. Its sanctuary is on the historic register, and the church opens it for tours on Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 1 PM if you ever want to see it when it's quiet. Much of its work centers on its Fine Arts and Missions programs, and the congregation gathers around 350 people weekly across two traditional worship services at 9 AM and 11 AM. It's a welcoming space that takes in everyone regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, or disability, and it's a member of the Midtown Alliance.

For this particular night, the focus is entirely on the kids. They'll have games to keep them busy, a movie to settle them in, and dinner and dessert to keep them full. It's a three-hour windowโ6 PM to 9 PMโwhich is just enough time to catch a movie, have a proper dinner, or just sit in a quiet room for a while. The church is at 781 Peachtree St NE, right in the heart of Midtown, so it's an easy drop-off and pick-up if you're already in the area.
