All-ages rock show by My Upside Down, described as 'violent pop', at The Masquerade in Atlanta.
My Upside Down play The Masquerade on Tuesday, October 27, with the show taking place in the Altar room. It's a single-act bill, so they're the only name on the poster for the night.
If you're not familiar with them, the band describes their sound as rewriting modern rock into something they call 'violent pop' — Fall Out Boy hooks welded to the urgency of Rites of Spring, loud and theatrical and built for a room that wants to lose it. It's a description that puts two very different eras of guitar music in the same sentence: the polished, melodic side of 2000s pop-punk and the raw, jagged energy of 80s hardcore. If that's the ground they're standing on, you can probably guess where the set will lean — big choruses played with a lot of volume and a fair amount of theater around them.
They've been building their catalog over the last couple of years. Their debut project, Piece by Piece, came out in September 2024 and has passed a million streams without a label behind it. Love & Taxidermy 2 expanded that world, with new releases throughout 2026, so there's a decent amount of material to pull from for a full set. Between the debut and the newer stuff, they've got enough on the books to cover the range they're talking about.
