Free outdoor Halloween movie screening of Hocus Pocus at Ashford Lane.
Movies Under the Stars is wrapping up its October run at Ashford Lane on Friday, October 23, with a screening of Hocus Pocus. It's the final night of a four-week series of outdoor films that has taken over the lawn on Friday nights throughout the month.
The whole thing is run by CTO Realty Growth's marketing director Autry Graham and event producer Bari Holmes, a Dunwoody High School class of 1994 graduate who runs Pivotal. The lawn itself was redeveloped after COVID on the site where Cheeseburger in Paradise and Outback Steakhouse once stood, turning it into a community green space. The center's events are free and charitable-first: at S'more the Merrier, the venue pays for the s'mores kits and a local nonprofit keeps all the money. The lawn is open container, dog-friendly, and free to park, and nearby restaurants like Superica have seen sales jump during event windows.
Hocus Pocus is the last of four Halloween-themed titles. The series kicked off on October 2 with Hotel Transylvania, followed by Scooby Doo on October 9 and Halloween Town on October 16. If you missed the earlier ones, this is the final chance to catch a movie on the lawn before the season closes.

It's a bring-your-own-setup kind of night: grab a blanket or a lawn chair and find a spot on the grass. You can pick up takeout or a to-go cocktail from one of the Ashford Lane restaurants and settle in. The screening runs from 7 PM to 9 PM, and admission is free.
