Annual free holiday event at the Fox Theatre with free photos with Santa, sing-alongs by the organ 'Mighty Mo', a special performance by Michelle Malone and The Hot Toddies and a screening of 'Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas'.
Merry Mighty Mo and More! returns to the Fox Theatre on Sunday, November 29, for the venue's annual holiday event. It's presented by Georgia Natural Gas, and the whole afternoon is built around the theatre's famed organ, 'Mighty Mo' — the sing-alongs it leads are where the event gets its name.
There's a good bit to fit into one afternoon. Along with the sing-alongs, you'll find free photos with Santa Claus and a screening of the family holiday movie Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. This year, the lineup adds a special performance by Michelle Malone and The Hot Toddies, so you've got the organ, the movie, the photos, and a live set all in one go. It's the kind of afternoon that works for a family outing as much as it does for anyone who just wants to spend a few hours in the Fox.
The event also has a charitable side: guests are encouraged to bring socks to the theatre for City of Refuge, so if you're heading in, it's a good time to toss a few pairs in your bag. The Fox Theatre itself is one of Atlanta's iconic spots for Broadway shows, concerts, and private events, and for the younger ones, they offer free booster seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
