Holiday immersive show of music, movement and storytelling by Mirth & Mischief Productions, with a Winter Wonderland Light Forest and reindeer fire show.
JOIE opens at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center on December 5 and runs through January 3. It's a full-length holiday production by Mirth & Mischief Productions, an immersive theatre agency that usually turns local experiences into regional destinations; this is their first home. The show unfolds inside the historic Tudor-Gothic mansion across five acts of music, movement and storytelling, and then continues out on the grounds with a mile-long Winter Wonderland Light Forest of illuminated installations, video mapping, puppetry and a snow play park.
The cast brings together Broadway-level vocalists, Cirque du Soleil veterans, international dance artists and Muppet performers, with puppeteer Steve Whitmire playing Professor Fizzwik. Along the way you'll run into a few breakout characters: Ded Zed, a vegan holiday zombie; Twigglenock, the woodland keeper; and Harmonia, the celestial guide. There are also the Fir Dogs, Barkley and Oakley, who live in a house whose tree carries tags for adoptable pets from local shelters.

Once you've made your way through the mansion and the light forest, the night closes with a reindeer fire show at the outdoor amphitheatre. Callanwolde is staging JOIE as a planned annual recurring event, and a percentage of ticket sales supports its mission. The show runs from December 5, 2026, through January 3, 2027, at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 980 Briarcliff Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30306.
