Country music concert by Johnny Blue Skies (Sturgill Simpson) with The Dark Clouds at State Farm Arena.
Johnny Blue Skies brings the Mutiny for the Masses Tour to State Farm Arena on Sunday, October 25, with his touring band The Dark Clouds backing him. If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's because Johnny Blue Skies is the new moniker for country singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson. He's touring under this new handle, and The Dark Clouds are the outfit he's taking on the road with him.
It's a country show, and the tour title—Mutiny for the Masses—sets the stage for the run. Simpson has spent years carving out a name for himself as a songwriter who isn't afraid to shift gears, and this tour is the latest chapter. He'll be fronting the night with The Dark Clouds, so you're getting a full band on stage rather than a solo act. The set will draw from the new material he's been playing out under the Johnny Blue Skies name, and the whole thing is built around the songs he's written and recorded as part of this new era.
There are a few things to keep in mind before you head downtown. State Farm Arena is a cashless venue, so you'll want to have a card ready for anything you buy inside. If you're looking to get close, there are general admission pit tickets available as a separate tier. Those get you in starting at 7 PM, and you'll need to pick up your wristbands inside near Gates 1 and 4. For those who prefer a different vantage point, club seating and suite rentals are also on the table.
