Groovin on the Square

Groovin' on the Square returns to Colony Square Midtown on Friday, October 23, for the final installment of its 2026 run. The series brings live music to The Plaza at Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta, running on the last Friday of the month from April through October. This particular date marks the end of the line for the season, so it's the last chance to catch it before the series goes on hiatus until next spring.

If you've been around Midtown this year, you've probably seen it: live music taking over the plaza on a Friday evening. The series is pitched as a way to unwind heading into the weekend, turning a Friday night in the city into a live performance. It's an outdoor setup, so you're listening in the open air of the plaza rather than inside a club or a theater. The music is the main draw, and the timing—the last Friday of the month—makes it a regular fixture on the Midtown calendar throughout the warmer months.

This October date is the season finale. Since the series runs from April through October, this is the final Friday of the year that Groovin' on the Square will be happening. If you've missed the previous months, this is the last one until the series picks back up next April. It's the same format as the rest of the run: live music in the plaza, an easy way to transition from the work week into the weekend.

It's happening at Colony Square Midtown, 1197 Peachtree St, in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The music runs from 6 PM to 8 PM, so it's an early evening affair that wraps up well before the night really gets going. If you're already in the area on a Friday, it's a straightforward stop on the way to whatever else you've got planned for the weekend.
