Student-run night of video, card and board game tournaments and casual play at Georgia State University, with free food.
GAMEFEST takes over the Georgia State University Student Center on Tuesday, November 3, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's a student-run night that brings people together for gaming and competition, and the whole thing is open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
Inside the Ballroom, the room is set up so you can choose your own speed. There are tournaments to enter if you're looking for a bracket and a title, plenty of space to play casually with friends, and spots to just hang out and watch other people battle it out. The games cover a few different worlds: video games, card games, and board games, so you don't have to be a console player to find something that works for you. There's free food on the night, too.
Behind the scenes, it's a student-led effort. The POUNCE Rewards Program and the Spotlight Programs Board run the event, and it's supported by Student Activity Fees. That student-run side is part of why it's open to more than just the campus community—students, faculty, staff, and the public are all welcome to drop in.
