Free Friday movie nights featuring Arabic-language films with English subtitles at Alif Institute in the Embry Hills area.
Alif Institute is hosting its Friday Movie Nights on October 23, part of a series that runs on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. The screenings are Arabic-language films subtitled in English, chosen to highlight Arab stories and creativity. The titles for the upcoming dates are still to be announced, so you'll find out what's playing closer to the night.
If you're planning ahead, there are a few more dates on the calendar: November 6, November 20, and December 11. Since they run twice a month, it's easy to make a habit of it and catch several over the fall.
Before the movie, there's an optional authentic Arab meal you can pre-purchase or buy at the event for around $15. It's a separate thing from the screening, so you can come for the film on its own or make a whole evening of it. An RSVP is requested, though not required, so it's a good idea to let them know you're coming if you can.
