Live show by Melbourne punk artist Ecca Vandal, headlining a North American tour stop at The Masquerade - Purgatory.
Ecca Vandal plays The Masquerade - Purgatory on Saturday, October 24, as part of a ten-date North American headline tour. She's an independent artist based in Melbourne, Australia, born in South Africa of Sri Lankan heritage. This stop follows a run through Australia and New Zealand supporting Deftones.
Her second album, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, landed her first major festival appearance at Coachella and a U.S. television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live. It's anchored in punk and draws on bhangra, hardcore, and alt hip hop, all held together by a punk heart. Vandal recorded and produced the record with her bass player and producer Richie Buxton in Buxton's childhood bedroom, after nearly two years of deliberate disconnection from the online game. She released her self-titled debut album back in 2017.
On stage, she's backed by drummer Dan Maio and bassist/producer Richie Buxton. Beyond this tour, she's played Roskilde, Rock am Ring, and Pinkpop, and has shared stages with Deftones and Limp Bizkit. The Atlanta date is one of ten on this North American run.
