Seventeenth annual car show and party with more than 100 cars, barbecue, craft beer, a silent auction and live music benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cars & 'Q for the Cause returns to Choate Construction on Saturday, October 24, from 12 PM to 3 PM. It's the 17th year for this one, and it's still built around the same basic idea: more than 100 unique cars on display, paired with barbecue, craft beer, wine, a silent auction, and live music. The whole afternoon goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Emily Bridges at Choate Construction Company founded and coordinates the event, and it's grown into something that's hard to fit into a single category. You've got the car show side of things, with over a hundred cars to walk through, and the party side, with the food, drinks, and music running alongside. There's also a silent auction going on throughout the day, so you can pick up something while you're there. It's the kind of afternoon that works as well if you're there for the cars as if you're just there for the BBQ and the beer.
There are a couple of smaller things that make it a bit more than just a car show. Story Time with Miss B is part of the day, and there's a free little library on site. Touchstone Energy, a national network of electric cooperatives, is sponsoring this year's edition.

Beyond the cars, the cause is what keeps it coming back. The proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which supports research and medical treatment for cystic fibrosis, a progressive genetic lung disease that affects more than 40,000 children and adults in the U.S. To date, the event has raised more than $5.2 million for that work. It's a good reason to spend a Saturday afternoon in the city.
Tickets run from $20 to $60, and the whole thing runs from 12 PM to 3 PM at Choate Construction Company, 8200 Roberts Dr #600, Atlanta, GA 30350.
