World premiere musical sequel to Alice in Wonderland and prequel to Peter Pan, a pre-Broadway show for families ages 9 and up.
Alice in Neverland opens at the Alliance Theatre on the Coca-Cola Stage on February 20, 2027, and runs through April 4. It's a world premiere and a pre-Broadway production, so this is the first time it's being staged anywhere.
The story is a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and a prequel to Peter Pan, and it's set twenty years after Alice's first trip down the rabbit hole. Alice is grown now, and her life has fallen apart, so she sets out to return to Wonderland—only to land in the far more dangerous Neverland instead. From there, the show looks at the magic of reclaiming childhood and the sacrifice it takes to never grow up. It's billed as appropriate for families with kids ages 9 and up, so it's one you can take the older children to.
Behind the scenes, Phil Kenny and Reston Williams handled the book, music, and lyrics, and the production is directed by Catie Davis with choreography by Dominique Kelley. It's part of the Alliance Theatre's 58th annual 2026-27 season, which runs in tandem with world-class theatre for young audiences on the Goizueta Stage for Youth & Families. There's a content advisory to keep in mind: the show includes brief allusions to stereotypical pirate behaviors, like violence, alcohol, and misogyny.
