The Belmont Fundraising Ceilidh & Party Night

The Belmont Fundraising Ceilidh & Party Night takes over the Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa on Saturday 21 November, from 7:30pm through to 1am the next morning. It's an Oscars-themed fundraiser for The Belmont, the Aberdeen cinema whose future is being secured through a refurbishment project. The whole night is built around that cinema connection, so the dress code is red-carpet attire—the kind of thing you'd wear to the awards, rather than a typical ceilidh.

The evening is staged as a film-and-dancing night out. Arrival and welcome drinks start at 7:30pm, and the ceilidh dancing kicks off at 8:00pm with a live band. Around 9:30pm, there's a hot supper of stovies and macaroni cheese to keep you going. Later on, the live band is joined by a DJ-style disco set, so the dancing continues well into the night.

Beyond the dancing, there's a fair bit more going on. The room plays host to Best Dressed Awards, a red-carpet photo corner, a film quiz, a raffle and a silent auction. If you're coming with a group, the table option makes sense. Individual tickets are £30 per person, or you can get a table of 10 for £300.

For those who want to leave a more permanent mark, companies can sponsor a named cinema seat in the refurbished Belmont auditorium for £650. That comes with a permanent plaque and two complimentary bottles of fizz. All proceeds from the night go towards the refurbishment, so whether you're there for the dancing or the supper, it's all for the same cause.
