Family-friendly cartooning workshop led by Big Dog creator Colin Fraser to draw Halloween characters and learn how to draw Big Dog.
Colin Fraser, the creator of Big Dog, is running a cartooning workshop at the Bon Accord Centre on Sunday 25 October, starting at 10:00. It's a family-friendly session for all ages, and you don't need any previous experience to join in — all the materials are provided on the day.
Over the course of the morning, you'll doodle your way through creating creepy characters, curious creatures and Halloween adventures, and you'll learn how to draw Big Dog himself. Fraser's character first appeared in the rhyming picture book Big Dog and the Home for Lost Hounds, which was inspired by a stray dog searching for a new home.
The workshop is part of EDIT's Tattie Holiday Art Club, delivered by SMART Art Agency in partnership with Bon Accord and EDIT Aberdeen. It's designed as a family activity, so it works just as well for kids as it does for adults; the only rule is that under-18s need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Beyond the drawing, the session supports the local creative community and the charitable work of Charlie House.
