A new outdoor dog show featuring a pop-up shopping village, expert talks, agility demonstrations, and artisan food and drink in York Museum Gardens.
York Dog Show is coming to York Museum Gardens on Sunday 20 September, a new outdoor event celebrating the bond between people and their dogs. It's run by York Museums Trust, and they've put together a day that's as much about the dogs as it is about the people who love them, with a good bit of local support woven in too.
The main draw is a pop-up shopping village, where you'll find stalls stocked with pet accessories, toys and treats. Alongside that, there are information stands and food and drink from local artisans, so you can grab something to eat while you're there. For those who want a bit more than just browsing, there are talks from veterinary experts and professional dog photography in the gardens, so you can get a proper shot of your dog in the setting.
Then there's the competitive side of things: dog classes and agility demonstrations. The classes are the heart of a dog show, and the agility demos give you a look at what these dogs can actually do when they're working. It's a family-friendly day, aimed at dog owners and families with their four-legged companions, but it's open to anyone who just enjoys being around dogs.
