Guided vineyard tour and wine tasting with the winemaker, including tasting of four wines and nibbles.
Goose Beck Vineyard is hosting a guided tour and wine tasting on Friday 11 September, and the best part is that the winemaker leads it himself. It's one of those days where you get to see the vines and then taste what they actually produce, all in the same place.
The morning starts with the tour. You'll walk through the vineyard with the winemaker, who'll talk you through how they grow the grapes and the work that goes into getting them ready for the press. It's the kind of thing that's easy to take for granted when you're just buying a bottle from a shelf, so having the person who actually does the work explain it as you look at the vines makes a difference.
After the tour, the tasting begins. You'll work through four of the vineyard's wines, with the winemaker on hand to talk about each one. It's a good spread to get a proper sense of what they're making, rather than just a single glass. To go with the wine, there are nibbles included, so you've got something to eat while you're tasting your way through the flight.
