A guided ghost tour through York's dark streets with Halloween games, chocolate samples and a prize for the best costume, hosted by Count Fectionary and Miss Terry.
York's Chocolate Story is running the Trick or Treat Trek on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October, a guided ghost tour that takes you out from King's Square and through York's dark streets. It's part of their family-friendly October half term programme, and the walk is led by the venue's own characters, Count Fectionary and Miss Terry.
Along the way, they'll keep you going with hair-raising stories and historical frights, mixed in with Halloween-themed games. There's plenty of chocolate samples and sweets to snack on as you walk, and a prize for the best-dressed Halloween costume, so it's worth putting some effort into the outfit. It's an outdoor event, and the whole thing takes about an hour.

It's recommended for ages 4 to 12, and children aged 15 and under need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Everyone needs a ticket, even the little ones. There are two slots each day: 12.45pm and 3.45pm, so you can pick the one that fits your afternoon best. Tickets are £10 for adults and £15 for children, with under-4s going free.
