Tour & Christmas Truffle Rolling

York's Chocolate Story is adding a festive twist to its usual guided tour this winter, with Tour & Christmas Truffle Rolling running from 28 November to 23 December 2026. It's a seasonal version of the museum's Classic Guided Tour, so you get the full walk-through plus some truffle rolling, dipping and decorating to finish on.

The tour itself takes you through York's chocolate history, starting with the bean's ancient origins in the rainforests of Central America and following it over to the cobbled streets of Yorkshire. From there it moves on to the city's most famous chocolate-making families and the iconic treats they left behind — the Chocolate Orange and the world-famous KitKat both make an appearance along the way. It's a good way to see how York earned its reputation as the 'Chocolate City'.

Beyond the tour, there's more to do inside. You can decorate your own chocolate lolly, watch a live demonstration by an expert chocolatier, and browse the gift shop and café. The attraction also runs over-18s Chocolate & Rum and Chocolate & Gin tours, hands-on masterclasses, and children's birthday parties, so if you fancy something a bit more adult or a proper session, there are other options on the go.

The truffle rolling runs once a day from 28 November to 23 December, usually as the last tour of the day, with extra tours added during peak times. The attraction is open 10:00-17:00 daily, though it closes from 24 to 26 December and on 1 January. Tickets are £27 for adults, £25 for children, and free for under-4s.
