Author Terry Deary presents dark tales of murder in the Georgian Theatre, celebrating his latest book releases at York Mansion House.
Terry Deary is at York Mansion House on Thursday 6 August, kicking off the fourth annual York Georgian Festival with a talk called Murder in the Georgian Theatre. It runs from 18:00 to 19:00 in the State Room, and it's an 18+ event.
Deary is best known as the author of the Horrible Histories series, and this talk plays right into that territory. He'll be digging into dark tales from behind the red curtain, focusing on murders both on and off the stage. It's the kind of thing that fits the Georgian theatre setting, and it's the opening event of the festival, so it sets the tone for the rest of the programme.
The evening also marks the release of two of his books. One is Actually, I’m A Corpse, the second instalment of The Actually Murders series. The other is A History of The World in Ten Wars, a humorous historical account. If you've read either, it's a good chance to hear him talk through the material in person.
