SpeedQuizzing at The Three Tuns

SpeedQuizzing is running every Wednesday night at The Three Tuns, with the next one on 22 July. It's hosted by Shaun from LSI Entertainment, and it's a bit different from your standard pen-and-paper pub quiz. Instead of scribbling answers on a sheet, you use your phone to buzz in, so it's more of a race to the answer than a slow burn of checking your work at the end. The faster you get it right, the more points you bag, which changes the whole feel of the thing — it's as much about your reflexes as it is about what you actually know.

It's set up for teams of up to six, and since it's a weekly fixture, it works just as well if you've got a regular crew as it does if you're just pulling a few people together for one night. The age limit is 18+, so it's an adults-only affair. The prizes are a fair bit more than a packet of crisps, too: there's a £40 bar tab for the winners, a £20 bar tab for second, a bottle of wine, and a cash jackpot that rolls over, so the stakes build up the longer you stick with it.
