SpeedQuizzing at The Punchbowl

SpeedQuizzing is coming to The Punchbowl on Tuesday 28 July, from 8pm to 11pm. It's part of a wider series of quiz nights running across different venues in York, and this one is hosted by Tom Stevens.

If you've never come across SpeedQuizzing before, it's a bit different from your standard pen-and-paper pub quiz. The whole thing is played on your phone, which doubles as your buzzer, so it's fast-paced and keeps things moving. There are prizes up for grabs, too.

One of the things that sets this series apart is that each night is run by a different local personality, so the vibe changes depending on who's holding the mic. This time around it's Tom Stevens, who describes himself as a teacher by day and someone who loves interacting with a crowd, getting a few laughs, and—his own words—tending towards the theatrical. That should make for a lively night, especially if you enjoy a quiz that doesn't take itself too seriously.
