SpeedQuizzing at The Deramore Arms

SpeedQuizzing is back at The Deramore Arms on Tuesday 18 August, with the night kicking off at 7:00pm. If you've never come across it, it's a bit of a departure from your usual pub quiz: instead of scribbling answers on a piece of paper and handing them in at the end, you answer on a keypad as you go. It keeps things moving, and you get your score almost as soon as the round is over.

That's the main thing that sets it apart from the standard format. There's no waiting around for the quizmaster to mark through a stack of sheets while the room goes quiet; the pace is built right into the name. It's the kind of thing that works well if you're more about the buzz of the night than the slow build of a traditional quiz.

This one is hosted by Andrew Firth, who'll be running the show from the front. The venue is The Deramore Arms, on Main Street in Heslington, YO10 5EA, just a bit out of the city centre. It's a Tuesday night, so it's a mid-week one rather than a weekend affair, and it starts at 7:00pm sharp.
