SpeedQuizzing at Inn On The Green

SpeedQuizzing is back at Inn On The Green on Wednesday 5 August, with Dan Wyrill hosting the night. It's a smartphone pub quiz, so you'll be answering on your phone rather than scribbling on a scrap of paper and hoping the quizmaster can read your handwriting. The whole thing runs from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, and it's for ages 10 and over.

If you've never come across it, SpeedQuizzing has a bit of a local story. It was started back in 2004 by brothers Alan and John, and what began as a family business has grown into the No.1 smartphone pub quiz, delivering more than 2,000 quizzes to players worldwide every week. It's a York original, and they describe it as 'Made in York. Played Everywhere.' — which is a nice way of saying it's a home-grown success that's travelled far beyond the city walls. Even so, it's still very much a part of the local scene, with more than 30 quiz nights running across York every week.

On the night, the prizes include bar tabs and wine, so there's something to play for beyond just the bragging rights. It's £2 per player, and it runs from 8:00pm to 11:00pm at Inn On The Green, 3 The Green, Acomb, York, YO26 5LL.
