Santa's Christmas Tour

York's Chocolate Story is bringing back Santa's Christmas Tour this winter, running from 28th November to 23rd December. It's not a daily thing, though: it's on weekends from the 28th, with the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of December added in, so you'll want to pick your date early.

The whole thing is built around a bit of a story: some of the world's best chocolate comes from York, and Santa accidentally dropped some of it from his sleigh on his way back to the North Pole. He needs your help to find the missing chocolate, and one of Santa's Elves leads the way. Every child gets a personal meet and greet with Santa, an age-appropriate gift, and the chance to decorate their own chocolate lolly. There's also a live chocolatier demonstration with tastings to work your way through. The adults aren't left out either: you get a complimentary hot chocolate and a festive gift of your own.

Past visitors have talked up the interactivity of Santa and the elves — Jingle, Tinsel and Sparkles — so it's more of a thing you do together than just watching. The whole experience lasts around an hour and a quarter, and you'll need to book in advance. It's fully accessible, with one free Carer ticket for every paying disabled visitor.
