A two-day event combining high-quality flat horseracing with live music performances, featuring Craig David presenting TS5 and Tom Grennan.
York Racecourse is hosting its Music Showcase Weekend on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July, a two-day stretch that puts live music alongside flat racing. It's the course's only evening meeting of the year, so if you're more into the music than the horses, Friday is the night to be there.
On the music side, the line-up is split across the two days. Friday 24 July sees Craig David presenting TS5, and Saturday 25 July brings Tom Grennan, who's put two UK number one albums to his name. The music stage has hosted major acts before, and the sound system is built to Glastonbury standards, reaching all the way to the Clocktower Enclosure, so you don't have to be right at the front to hear it properly.
Between the sets, there's high-quality flat racing on both days. Friday's evening meeting is headlined by the Listed EBF Lyric Stakes, and Saturday features the G2 Sky Bet York Stakes. The whole thing is set up to work for both racing and music fans, so you can spend your time however you like—watching the races, catching the music, or both. The venue itself is a historic one, recently named UK Racecourse of the Year and home to the World's Best Race in 2024.
