Heritage Open Day: Tour of the Historic Church of All Saints North Street

All Saints North Street is opening its doors for a guided tour on Thursday 17 September, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, as part of Heritage Open Days. It's a small parish church, and the tour is led by the churchwarden, who takes you through the building and talks through its glass and its long history. The tour is free, and it's followed by complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

What makes All Saints worth a look is its collection of medieval stained glass. It's a unique and fascinating set, and the tour gives you a chance to see it properly while hearing the stories behind the pieces. The churchwarden walks you through the building, explaining the glass and the thousand years of history held within the walls, so you get the context rather than just glancing at the windows on your own.

It's a morning thing, starting at 10:00am and running until 12:00pm, with the refreshments coming after the tour. The church is at 31 North Street, YO1 6JD, and the tour is free, as are the tea, coffee and biscuits that follow.
