An evening of English cheese tasting paired with Goose Beck still wines, hosted by Gemma Aykroyd of The Cheeseboard of Harrogate.
Goose Beck Vineyard is hosting a cheese and wine night on Friday 31 July, run in collaboration with The Cheeseboard of Harrogate. It's a tasting of five English wines and five English cheeses, with crackers to go with them, and it's led by Gemma Aykroyd.
The tasting takes about two hours, and you work your way through the pairings one by one. The wines are all still English wines from the vineyard, and the cheeses are English too. It's a slow, guided evening rather than a quick drink, so it's one to settle into.
That's where Gemma Aykroyd comes in. She's owned The Cheeseboard of Harrogate since 1981, and she's a four-time World Cheese Award judge as well as a local cheese judge at The Great Yorkshire Show. She'll be the one leading the tasting, so you're getting someone who knows her way around a cheese board.
