A guided tour of the kitchen garden at Middlethorpe Hall & Spa led by Head Gardener Andrew Leighton, with advice on growing produce and tips for home gardeners, followed by Afternoon Tea.
Andrew Leighton, Head Gardener at Middlethorpe Hall & Spa, is leading a guided tour of the hotel's kitchen garden on Wednesday 9 September, from 2:00pm to 5:30pm. The garden is more than just a feature of the grounds; it supplies much of the seasonal fruit and vegetables that shape the Head Chef's menus throughout the year, so what you'll see is the actual source of the food served in the hotel.
During the tour, Leighton and his team of National Trust volunteers explain how they grow their produce and offer practical tips for your own garden. The wider walk shows how the grounds team creates year-round colour across the site, so you get a look at both the working side of the garden and the ornamental side. The afternoon finishes with afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly, and you're asked to let them know about any dietary requirements or allergies when you book.
