Freida Nipples brings The Exhibitionists to York Theatre Royal this October, with three performances in total. It's hosted in The Old Paint Shop, the studio space within the theatre, so it's a bit more tucked away than the main house.
Freida Nipples is an internationally award-winning burlesque artist who describes her work as a mix of classic and neo-burlesque, blending comedy, high fashion, and conceptual showbiz. Her sets lean into storytelling, glamour, and body positivity, and she's known for drawing a crowd that's around 75% women. The name itself is a playful one, combining her sister's name with a nod to her stage persona. She produces burlesque shows across the UK, with dates in Leeds, London, and York.
The venue has its own bit of history to it. The Old Paint Shop is part of the York Theatre Royal Studio, named for the space's past as a theatre workshop and its proximity to Exhibition Square. For this run, it's been turned into a cabaret-style room with mirror balls, lampshades, and intimate seating. It's part of a wider push led by chief executive Paul Crewes to bring a range of music, theatre, burlesque, and stand-up comedy into the studio.

There are three shows to choose from: October 5 at 8pm, and October 26 with two performances, one at 6pm and another at 9pm. All three are at The Old Paint Shop, York Theatre Royal.
